{ TRIM THE TREE }

This was such a fun little commercial shoot for Gracylu Originals.  She has the most beautiful hair accessories for babies, children, even brides.  She has even been featured in magazines and many online blogs and forums.  So unique!  I loved these glod/cream and silver/cream detailed hair clips.  The girls had fun trimming this tree and being models for a few minutes!  I think they spent most of their time giggling and goofing around!!  What little girls do best!

Be sure to check out all the latest from Gracylu Originals.

{ KELLY & JAKE WEDDING }

I’m so excited to FINALLY have these images on the blog.  Can I just tell you how amazing Denver Colorado is!  What a beautiful wedding, amazing couple, and magnificent day!  Every little detail was so perfect!  The way Jake would look at Kelli…sigh…!  They were so in love and you could just tell this couple is meant to be together.  They had the coolest, funnest, LARGEST wedding party!  They are surrounded by so many lovely friends and family who love them.  What an honor to document your most important day!

{ WHAT MY BABY LOOKS LIKE }

For this months lifestyle photography project, I decided to highlight my daughter.    I took these photos a month or so ago and so much has already changed even since this shoot.  She has been wanting short hair for quite some time and so she got a haircut.  She also lost her first tooth and has many more that are quite wiggly!   She has informed me that a boy named Lucas has a crush on her!  Boy is she growing up fast!  It seems like just yesterday that she was a baby and I really miss that phase with her.  I admit it was so fun when she came along especially after having 2 boys.  She has been such a sweetheart and we have so much fun together.  It’s fun to watch her learn new things and grow into her own little person.Want more eye candy?  Keep the circle going and hop on over to Jules Trandem’s blog.  She is amazing at lifestyle photography! { SCHOOLS IN SESSION }

I’ve been in a bind trying to think of what I could post for this months {Elevate} project.  Elevate is this really awesome photography group where we can post anything we feel is artistic and more on the fine art side of things.  I was going to pull something from my archives, but decided to just finish up my kids vintage back to school photos.  I get so side tracked with other projects and pressing deadlines, that often my kids photo shoots sit for far too long.  I think I like these images and portraits much better than a school “say cheese” photo!    These images of my kiddos mean the world to me.  They are growing like weeds and I don’t want to miss a thing.   Don’t forget….there are 12 amazing photographers in this group.  Click on over to see the amazing work of  Jennifer Nguyen | Snails and Pigtails Photography | Temecula, CA Photographer

{ WHAT FALL TIME LOOKS LIKE }

I am now on month 3  of my 12 month photography project with a group of incredibly talented photographers from across the country.  The theme each month is “what _____ looks like”,  and we have to fill in the blank.  We each link to another photographer in the group until the circle of 12 is complete.  The assignment is to photograph our families in a lifestyle manner.

Well if there is one thing I have learned while in this group, it’s that I STINK at lifestyle photography.  Instead of getting better, I feel like I’m getting worse!!!  I tried to capture a bunch of fall photos of my children, but they were little monsters when we went to look at the leaves.  Then I had no memory card the day of the pumpkin patch.  So, I’m cheating this month.  I am posting a mixture of fall photos from last year and some from this year.  I tried to let my kids goof around, run, and play.  But I just can’t get rid of the portrait photographer in me.  Always looking for that perfect light, pose,  and moment.  So I think I have like 10% lifestyle and 90% portraits (lol)!  One of these days I am hoping I will improve at lifestyle photography, because I sure admire and enjoy the imagery of those who can so effortlessly pull it off!

I just love my kiddo’s so much!  Avery was very proud that she had a picture where she could show off her first missing tooth.  And Ethan is really diggin’ his “Lego” watch!   Keep the circle going….because you DO NOT want to miss the amazing work of Jules Trandem/ California Lifestyle Photographer
