{ WHAT “THE FAMILY DOG” LOOKS LIKE }

September is month 2 of my 12 month photography project with a group of incredibly talented photographers from across the country.  The theme each month is “what _____ looks like”,  and we have to fill in the blank.  We will each link to another photographer in the group until the circle of 12 is complete.  I am looking forward to seeing the different perspectives of each photographer and also getting to know them better through their imagery.  There are very few rules, however the photographs must be of our own children and family, and taken in a lifestyle format. We get so caught up in shooting for clients and other projects that it’s easy to neglect capturing all the sweet and fleeting moments of our own families.  I look forward to documenting my family and creating a photographic journal of who we are.  Hopefully this project might inspire you to go out and do the same.  To focus on our families, the ones we love and who mean the most to us.  These will be the photographs that will mean the most to us 30 years from now.  If you missed last month click HERE.

This month I wanted to capture some photos of our kids with Chloe.   She is a Dachshund (wiener dog) that we brought home last year on Christmas eve.  Chloe has become such a part of the family and the kids just adore her. They want to take her everywhere.  I’m surprised one of the kids hasn’t tried to smuggle her to school in their backpack!   Chloe loves when we take her outdoors, so we decided to head up the canyon to go hiking.  Photographing an animal = pain in the _ _ _!   It really made me think about apertures and shutter speeds.  It’s been so nice having a little friend for the kids…..even though I secretly think she likes me best!Continue the circle and see what Jules Trandem | San Diego Lifestyle Photographer captured this month!

so adorable! i love how you take an ordinary walk with your dog and turn in into a beautiful documentation. your processing, as usual, is stunning! love the added texture and your colors are gorgeous. the bokeh in the one with your son throwing the bone is fabulous! great month!

We just got a puppy a few months ago and I have yet to capture any really great pictures of her like you did here. Dogs really do become part of the family and you’ve inspired me to take more pics of my kids and puppy together.

Chloe is such a sweetie! I love how you captured them all together. Such fond memories for your children. And I agree with Wendy and Maureen, that log shot is remarkable!
